The Global Alliance is a voluntary collaborative initiative to
focus and catalyse the efforts of a
diverse range of stakeholders to achieve international goals to prevent children’s
lead from paint and to minimize occupational exposures to lead paint.
The Global Alliance is a joint undertaking of the United Nations Environment
Programme (UNEP) and
the World Health Organization (WHO).
Despite numerous invitations to various governmental and non-governmental stakeholders across the globe, LiPSA
was the only specialist European body to attend the GAELP Conference held in Geneva in 2010. Also present was Dr Paul
Dargan, a leading UK toxicologist. This first meeting was sponsored by the US EPA and attended by leading experts and
academics from around the world.
